November 2023 – March 2024

We are very pleased to be able to note details, once again, of services at Ebeneser Chapel on the Treuddyn website.

Following the service by the Rev. Dr. Jennie Hurd on Sunday afternoon, November 5th, we had an opportunity to congratulate Mrs Carys Huxley on the occasion of her 90th birthday. There was a chance to reminisce over a cup of tea and cake. Carys has been a lifelong member of the chapel and we extended our best wishes to her for the future.

We are very fortunate to be able to say that a Sunday School has been re-established under the name of Clwb Capel Ebeneser. Our thanks go to Mrs Alaw Smith, who organises and takes charge of the sessions. The Club is held on the first Sunday of the month between 10 – 11 in the morning. Children are able to listen to stories from the Bible and enjoy some related art work. The Club has been fortunate to have increased the number attending since its formation in February 2023. A warm welcome is extended to children and their parents/adult to attend the sessions. During December the children were busy decorating a Christmas tree, which was part of the Christmas Tree Festival held at St Mary’s Church Treuddyn. The children also took part in the Carol Service at the Chapel which took place on December 17th when they told the story of the birth of Jesus. They received a well appreciated applause from the congregation.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs Dilys Williams on the recent loss of her sister Jane. Along with her sisters, Jane was a member of the Sunday School during the 60s and 70s and this was the chapel the family attended, We send our sincere condolences to all the family in their loss and sadness.

Our annual Bilingual Carol Service was held on Sunday, December 17th at 2.30pm under the care of our minister, the Rev. Eirlys Gruffydd Evans. There was an opportunity for light refreshments following the service. Thank you to all who attended.

At the end of the year we would like to thank all who held services here during 2023, including our minister the Rev Eirlys Gruffydd Evans

We send our best wishes to all who are currently unable to attend services because of ill health and we wish you all a complete and full recovery Also, we wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
